This delicious recipe can be made with frozen or fresh Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts can be cooked in a cast iron pan, roasted in the oven, or prepared in the air fryer. If you cook them in a cast iron pan, you can cook the bacon and prepare the sprouts in the bacon grease.

It is also worth noting that you can reheat cooked Brussels sprouts in the air fryer. Avoiding reheating in a microwave as they won’t be crispy.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts (washed, trimmed, cut in half)

  • Olive oil

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 5 cloves garlic (minced) or garlic powder

  • 1/4 cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese

  • Balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Clean and trim Brussels sprouts then cut them in half.

  3. Put sprouts in a glass bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Stir well.

  4. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.

  5. Pour sprouts into the pan. Season then cover with bacon.

  6. Bake for 15 minutes, stir, then bake for another 15 minutes.

  7. The cooked Brussels sprouts should be golden brown, even blackened on some edges.

  8. Serve with parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top, if desired.

  9. Lightly pour some balsamic vinegar over the top, if desired.
